Technical Sales Manager

ROLE SUMMARY
The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for executing all aspects of Agsol’s sales strategy. This includes generating new leads, managing partner and customer relationships, coordinating all sales activities locally and regionally, managing sales and customer experience staff, overseeing after-sales support, partner training, campaigns and promotions.
You will need to travel regularly within Kenya and the region, often spending time in rural areas. Your ultimate mission is to ensure Agsol’s machines deliver maximum benefits to our distributors and customers.
Build and execute sales opportunities:

Drive B2B sales and build a pipeline of opportunities
Build and manage relationships with partners, distributors, and mill owners
Manage all sales enquiries
Provide after-sales support and technical troubleshooting support
Report on sales and KPIs
Improve CRM systems
Manage logistics of mills and other components to partners and customers in and outside Kenya
Support customer data collection and reporting
Capture and feedback customer experience insights internally
Support design and delivery of marketing materials and campaigns
Present at industry shows and exhibitions

Accelerate technical solutions growth:

Manage mill installations of solar and AC mills including managing field engineers and technicians
Provide technical and commercialisation training to partners, distributors, and mill owners

Accountabilities:

Support management of inbound international shipments and outbound trans-shipping within the region
Provide weekly updates on field trips, installations, and sales
Meet sales quotas and net promoter score targets
Function as the Project Manager for some funded projects, delivering on milestones against project schedules, and meeting reporting requirements

ABOUT YOU
You are an engineer and mid-level professional with over five years’ experience working with technical products and managing sales and staff in challenging environments. You have a broad set of human management and relationship skills and genuinely care about the customer experience. Your motivation, practical approach, personal values, ability to self-manage and efficiently deliver results are core attributes.
You are an adaptable and open communicator, equally capable of conversing with a business leader or politician, as you are sitting down with a rural farmer. Your honest and open personality wins people over. You are comfortable collaborating with others, value diversity, and are a thoughtful relationship builder.
You appreciate that being part of a young and dynamic company, you need to be flexible and willing to step up when circumstances demand it.
Skills, experience, and attitude:

Degree in engineering
5+ years of professional work experience
3+ years of technical sales experience, ideally in solar or agricultural technologies
English and Kiswahili
Excellent report writing
Customer-centric, customer-centric, customer-centric
Ability to form strong, trusting relationships with people quickly
Strong skills in MS Office and CRM software
Unrestricted license, clean driving record and can drive a manual transmission
Combines patience, empathy, and honesty, with assertiveness and drive to see any job through
Tremendous ability to get stuff done with limited resources!
