Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation:
Operate and oversee the operation of recycling machinery, such as balers, shredders, conveyors, and sorting equipment.
Monitor equipment performance and intervene promptly in case of malfunctions or breakdowns.
Conduct routine inspections to identify and address maintenance needs.
Quality Control:
Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality recycled materials.
Inspect incoming materials and outgoing products for conformity to standards.
Collaborate with quality control personnel to address any issues and improve processes.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Collaborate with maintenance staff to schedule and perform regular equipment maintenance.
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions while coordinating repairs as needed.
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce and promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for machine operators.
Investigate and report accidents or incidents promptly, implementing corrective actions.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
Report and update production metrics, equipment status, and any issues to the relevant parties.
Collaborate with colleagues to improve overall plant efficiency and effectiveness.
Supervision and Leadership:
Lead, train, and supervise a team of assistant operators.
Motivate and support the team to achieve production goals and targets.
Production Planning:
Work with the Recycling Plant Manager and Recycling Plant Supervisor to develop production schedules and plans.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of materials through the production process.
Make adjustments to production schedules in consultation with the Recycling Plant Manager and Supervisor based on changing priorities or unforeseen circumstances.
Supervision and Leadership:
Lead, train, and supervise a team of machine operators.
Ensure that operators adhere to safety protocols and follow standard operating procedures.
Motivate and support the team to achieve production goals and targets.
Qualifications
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering,
Proven experience as a machine operator in a recycling or similar industrial setting.
Having operated an industrial production machine before with at least 3 process steps that required controlling of specific parameters such as temperature, pressure, speed.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Should understand: –
Industrial Machinery process.
Industrial Mechanical Techniques.
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) i.e. Machine efficiency and Manpower Utilization.
Ability to stand or walk for longer hours.
