Technical Manager – Building Solution

Job Purpose:

Plan and execute all activities related to Group Building Solution Business Units which includes all aspects of Roll Forming technical management, training, technical literature etc.
Responsible for overall technical direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of major Building Solution projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals within allocated budgets.
Responsible for overall Technical direction for Group Roll forming including machine specification, common Maintenance management practices and training, critical spares management and commercial procurement, and liaison with Machine suppliers (including new product development opportunities).
Responsible for maintaining and coordinating updates of the Group Technical portal for Building Solutions .

Key Responsibilities
Building Solutions Group Technical

Improvement in roll forming and all other machinery and equipment utilization (including products to specification) and deployment across group companies to maximum utilization.
Review and update the Safal Group Roll-forming Technical manual and ensure processes are in place for critical spares management, maintenance planning/execution, and reporting.
Develop Maintenance Training platform and regional expertise for Roll forming equipment.
Stay abreast with the latest developments with respect to roll-forming equipment, products, and machinery and bring them to the attention of the group.
Leading, developing, and mentoring technical and operating resources across the Region through internal technical training, standardization, and improvement of the current portfolio.
Procurement and standardization of roll-forming machinery and equipment.
Ensure Technical Portal is maintained and reflects all Technical data, drawings, and relevant equipment information for all BS BUs across the Group. Includes key suppliers.
Responsible to drive and implement Product Care in all BS operations
Support and drive the development and implementation of relevant identified EA Standards (new and or review).
Review Technical marketing literature for accuracy and compliance (including Websites and Campaigns). 

Budgetary responsibility:

Preparation of relevant budgets during the Business Planning Process in conjunction with BU’s.
Execution as per relevant Budgets in conjunction with BU’s.

Procurement responsibility: 

Initiate inquiries, evaluate & present cases for procurement for all major equipment, parts, and services required. Manage key Roll Forming supplier relationships and machine procurement in conjunction with external vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Minimum academic qualification: Degree in Engineering or a professional qualification.
Qualifications as an added advantage: Related Post Graduate Qualification/MBA.

EXPERIENCE

General work experience (years): At least 10 years of senior-level experience in the management of people and resources of which 3-5 years in a senior Management role.
Industry experience: Roll-Forming Operations, Downstream Steel Industry experience
Working experience with multi-culture will be advantageous
Computer Skills: MS Suite
