About the role
You will be responsible for driving and supporting teams of software developers (junior and senior) to rapidly learn new software languages. You will inspire and mentor Andela’s software developers into becoming exceptional engineers armed with a variety of stack skills.
This role requires an understanding of how technical engineers think and learn and a strong grounding in mentorship and teaching. While you may be facilitating the learning of new software languages, you will be leveraging the experience of your students and best in class resources that Andela provides to drive the highest quality of learning as fast as possible.
The Technical Learning Facilitator is expected to work closely with their Program Manager to develop and execute strategies that increase the speed of learning, find new content and tools that deepen the student’s level of learning, and help guide the developers through their learning paths by providing operational support.
Job Description
Design, develop, drive, facilitate, and iterate software language learning programs
Evaluate and build best-in-class learning tools and curriculums
Coach non-technical team members to understand and address engineering perspectives for learning programs
Mentor aspiring software developers through actionable feedback and hands-on learning
Define, operationalise, and personally drive measures of success for the learning program
Skills & Competencies
Entrepreneurial and/or teaching experience – developing and empowering others
Strong coding background in at least two of Andela’s offered stacks and flexible to support/work with other stacks
Offered stacks are –
JS
Java
Python
Ruby
PHP
iOS and
DevOps
Data focused – obsessed with tracking initiatives and optimizing processes
Decisive and able to influence others for cooperation and buy-in
Strong presentation, interviewing, and public speaking skills
Ability to manage time and workload effectively
Ability to work with minimal support
Qualifications
At least 3 – 4 years of software development experience
Minimum of 1 year managerial experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or similar
Worked in a dynamic and constantly evolving environment with developers
Has experience in setting up new operations or products from scratch
