Technical Lead, Maternal Newborn Child Health

The MNCH Technical Lead has the following primary responsibilities:

 Ensure high quality implementation of projects:

 Serve as technical point of contact for all Africa related newborn nutrition engagements
 Support the creation, adaptation, and piloting of newborn nutrition implementation materials, including training materials
 Provide technical and tactical newborn nutrition expertise to the MNCHN team to inform project planning, implementation and evaluation, and strategic expansion
 Assist in guiding gender integration within RMNCH activities
 Lead or contribute to all project deliverables

 Generate new strategic opportunities and revenue across key African geographies:
 Foster innovative ideas and opportunities through co-creation with MNCHN and country programs
 Support development of regional Africa newborn nutrition strategy
 Work with MNCHN and Africa leadership to develop strategic partnerships to advance innovation and access to newborn nutrition
 Identify donor priorities and cultivate relationships that lead to new opportunities
 Lead or contribute to proposal development for expansion of newborn nutrition programming in Africa Division
 Coordinate stakeholder engagement, regional learning sessions, and policy advancement

Required Experience

 Master’s degree or higher in public health, public policy, or related technical/clinical field
 10+ years of working in maternal and newborn health
 Clinical experience in newborn care, with specific experience in neonatal intensive care
 Strong technical expertise in newborn or nutrition/lactation; experience in both preferred
 Previous experience in developing technical training materials
 Experience collaborating with or embedded within technical and policy experts, ie, Ministry of Health, Pediatric Associations, and relevant government structures
 Skilled in proposal writing and concept development
 Strong clinical research skills preferred
 Fluent in English; additional languages a plus
 Available to travel nationally and internationally estimated at 20 percent per PATH’s travel and safety guidelines
 Must have legal authorization to work in Kenya
