About the Project
Monitoring and Evaluation & Strategic Information Systems (MESIS) is a project led by Health Strat in partnership with the National and AIDS STI Control Program (NASCOP) and University of Nairobi through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The project supports enhancing strategic information capacity for HIV/AIDS programs towards sustaining epidemic control in Kenya through monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and data science. The project implements several technological innovations in health information systems.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Business Analyst/Systems Administrator, the Quality Assurance Intern will support development, testing, implementation, and user support for Health Strat technology tools and platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in System Requirements Gathering and document the expectation in a clear and easy to understand language.
Translate functional requirements and specifications into detailed test plans, encompassing functional, system, integration, performance, regression, and user acceptance testing. S/he will be responsible for implementing Agile Software Testing Lifecycle.
Work with the project management team closely to ensure that testing processes are implemented and followed by all core team members.
Testing and ensuring quality of applications to ensure they meet user needs.
Perform workflow and functional testing of the developed systems to ensure quality of user experience and data.
Test solutions to integrate with other existing platforms, create data pipelines, and monitor the quality of the ETL processes.
Review products to match design specifications, with an eye to user experience issues such as fonts, colors, and screen size breakpoints with responsive design.
Verify multiplatform capabilities, cross-browser testing (Chrome, IE, Firefox, Edge, Safari), and mobile testing (iPad, iPhone, android phone, tablet) for building products.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or Software Engineering with a focus on Software Development or an equivalent degree
At least 1 year experience in automated testing
Some Performance and Load Testing experience with open-source tools
Skills
Experienced testing in low to no-code environments and processes such as mobile data collection and/or PowerBI dashboards
In-depth understanding and practical testing experience of T-SQL, SQL Serve
Experience with full software development process with Agile Methodology
Experience with any open-source performance / stress testing tool
Experience with PowerBI and Power Tools will be an added advantage
