Systems Engineer

About The Role

The System Engineer will manage software, hardware and network infrastructure. You will maintain reliable operations of the production, test, and development environments infrastructure and applications at One Acre Fund. You will work with engineering teams to manage the performance of applications in the production environments. You will report to the infrastructure team lead.

Responsibilities

Administer and troubleshoot private and cloud-based servers running on Windows and Linux in physical, virtualized and containerized environments.
Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
Maintain security through identity management, certificates, protocols, access controls and firewalls
Manage capacity, storage planning, and database performance
Establish proper governance in the administration of systems by defining policies, standards, processes and best practice guidelines

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

BSc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other relevant fields.
3+ years of experience managing cloud-hosted IT infrastructure.
Experience working with container platforms and microservices
Experience with CI/CD and configuration management tools
3+ years of experience managing Microsoft SQL Server database environments.
3+ years of experience writing and using scripts in Python, Bash, Perl, or Windows PowerShell.
3+ years of experience managing infrastructure security using identity management, certificates, VPNs, VLANs, and access controls.
Experience with patch management tools, patching lifecycle, and vulnerability remediation.
Experience implementing best practices in infrastructure management.
One or more relevant professional certifications, such as:
Linux Certifications: LPIC-1, LPIC-2, RHCSA, or RHCE
Azure Certified (AZ900,AZ104, AZ303)
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
Cisco CCNA Cloud
