System Integration Engineer

Role Description

This is a contract on-site role as a System Integration Engineer at ServTel Communications Limited in Mombasa County, Kenya. The System Integration Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, systems engineering, technical support, system administration, and testing on a day-to-day basis.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES of our Systems Integration Engineer

Must have technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop customized customer-centric designs as per our core business.
The candidate must work within strict time schedules and keep at all times Time sheets to explain the work done at what client relating to Job Cards filled and signed by client as per the company rules and documents.
Needs to have the ability to plan, design and to lead where necessary small team for medium sized projects as per client requirements.
Be part of a team on larger projects. In all cases, must work with minimal supervision.
Prepare cost estimates for approval by Lead project Head with Gantt Charts
Can function in a timely and technically acceptable fashion per Customer requirement and to the agreed time frames.
Remain aware and involved in the latest developments within the industry and the greater engineering world to identify any potential concepts that could be incorporated into new designs.
Willing to continuously upgrade skills of products we deal in by attending any webinar that the company suggests.
Ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained.
Ensure accurate record keeping in relation to projects and time recording according to required company standards.
Attend and participate in client meetings, always ensuring customer care is the foremost priority.
Ensure all assigned deliverables are technically in accordance with client requirements and established contract requirements.
Prepare Technical Requisitions for any 3rd party design review and verification
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area in the office and at the Clients’.
Support other departments and business units and carry out other duties as and when business requires and as requested by other senior managers.
Travel as required by project needs and for client meetings. To provide site installation, commissioning and testing support or other related activity as required on any project.
Move to any part of the Country as required by the Company

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Similar in the field of Information technology, telecoms networks, Internet and other related fields.
Between 2-6 years of experience in system integration in busy organization for Different positions within the Company
Certificate in CCNA or NSE4 and above is an added advantage
Troubleshooting and Testing skills
Systems Engineering and System Administration skills
Technical Support expertise in CCTV Systems, Biometric Systems, Structured Cabling, Wireless Solutions, VMS’s and VoIP Systems.
Experience in system integration and deployment
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
Ability to work under pressure
