Supply Chain Manager

Job Summary
As a Supply Chain Manager within the Project Execution function in PowerGen’s Supporting Business Unit, your role will be to link and streamline operations within and across all the Business Units in the three key functions i.e. Inventory, Procurement and Logistics
Requirements

A minimum of 7 years relevant experience in Supply Chain/Procurement/Contracts management, with at least three years managing a team directly
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following:-Procurement and Supplies Management, Procurement and Logistics, Commerce, Business Administration (Supplies Management Option), Economics or other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
Solid understanding of inventory, procurement and logistics management best practices and procedures internationally and locally
Prior experience in the renewable energy sector preferred
Be proficient in ERP systems
Full membership to a recognized professional body
Capability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Analytical and data-driven
A change agent: excited about continuous improvement and not content with maintaining the status quo

Responsibilities

Lead Supply Chain Growth & Development

Help in creation and achievement of supply chain key progress indicators in line with the Company’s goals across all the Business Units
Ensure supply chain systems, processes and team capacity are apace with company growth
Help to recruit, build and retain the best talents; a team that is highly efficient, motivated and raises performance in the key supply chain functions to a world class level

Continuous Cost and Operational Optimization

Support the implementation of supply chain best-practice and standards to all our Business Units and ensure that our central support operations are architected for growth, cost effectiveness, and operational excellence.
Collaborate with the other teams within Supporting Business Unit Project Execution (SBU-PX) and other Business Units by utilizing strategic sourcing tools to sustain continuous cost reduction initiatives for CAPEX

Oversee the Day-to-Day Supply Chain Activities

Proactively grow the company’s local and international supplier and partner network for key equipment, materials and logistics services to mitigate risk and keep pace with the technological, regulatory and market changes in the renewable energy sector
Develop and manage a distribution infrastructure to support PowerGen’s Business Units
Develop effective inventory forecast models in line with the Company’s goals on cost and revenue
Be an individual that can approach business challenges from a macro perspective and resolve strategic issues effectively.
Regular reporting on the performance of key supply chain functions across all the Business Units i.e. inventory, procurement and logistics
Responsible for coordinating and supporting initiatives relative to the evaluation, processing, and handling of the organization’s insurance across all the business units
Acts as a liaison between the organization and its partners
