The Opportunity:
The Strategic Planning and Translation Subchapter Lead establishes and leads a specialized team within the Strategic Planning and Innovation chapter. This role focuses on supporting Networks and Chapter organizations with strategic planning activities and translating high-level strategies into actionable and tactical approaches within Networks, countries, or markets. The role reports to the Chapter Lead for Strategic Planning & Innovation and manages a small team.
Key Challenges:
Subchapter Creation and Team Development: Establish and develop the subchapter team to deliver on its mandate effectively.
Strategic Planning & Translation: Develop standardized strategic planning and translation approaches, ensuring alignment with the Africa strategic goals.
Annual Planning Cycles: Support and facilitate annual strategic planning cycles across Networks and markets.
Project Management: Source and curate relevant data sets, develop resources to better understand markets, and monitor the implementation of strategic planning tools.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (GM/CMs, Marketing Leaders, Sales Teams) and external entities (data providers, IVD stakeholders, customers).
Responsibilities Include:
Budget Management: Oversee the subchapter budget, including Team expenses, and external data procurement.
Market Research: Manage market research projects and contracts to gather credible information for strategic planning.
Communication: Ensure clear and effective communication of subchapter outputs to all relevant stakeholders.
Tool Proficiency: Utilize tools such as Excel, databases, G-slides, and Lucid charts for data analysis and strategic planning activities.
Deployment of Strategic Planning & Translation: Deployment of planning and translation skill sets and activities, either independently or with other team members, for high-value or in-focus opportunities within Africa (approximately 50% of the role’s time).
Who you are as our ideal candidate:
You hold a completed degree in a relevant field and have extensive experience in Sales, Marketing or Business Development within the Medical industry. Experience in Market Research, Analytics and Strategic Planning and Execution is a distinct advantage.
Strategic Planning and Data Analysis: Strong skills in strategic planning, data analysis, and research (both online and in-person).
Experience and Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the IVD industry, experience in strategic planning, strategy implementation, and team management.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
Communication and Influence: Exceptional communication and influencing skills to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with a track record of driving impact and managing teams.
