JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Monitoring:
Regularly monitor and inspect steam boilers to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.
Check boiler controls, valves, gauges, and other equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Maintenance Planning and Execution:
Develop and implement maintenance schedules for steam boilers based on recommendations and operational needs.
Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
Coordinate with other maintenance staff or contractors for specialized repairs or inspections.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
Diagnose and troubleshoot boiler malfunctions or issues promptly.
Perform repairs or adjustments to boiler components, including pumps, valves, piping, and controls.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and take appropriate corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards related to boiler operation and maintenance.
Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and implement safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Water Treatment and Chemistry:
Monitor water quality and chemistry within the boiler system to prevent scale, corrosion, and other water-related issues.
Implement water treatment programs and chemical dosing as per manufacturer recommendations and regulatory requirements.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and safety inspections.
Generate reports on boiler performance, maintenance activities, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Training and Support:
Provide training and guidance to operators or maintenance personnel on proper boiler operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
Support the development of operational guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for boiler maintenance and operation.
Energy Efficiency and Cost Management:
Implement energy-saving initiatives and practices to improve boiler efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities for optimization without compromising operational requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements, equipment upgrades, or technological advancements to enhance boiler performance, reliability, and safety.
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning for recurring issues or failures.
Emergency Response:
Be available for on-call duty and respond promptly to emergencies related to boiler operation, malfunction, or safety incidents.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Should be a Steam Boiler Maintenance Engineer with minimum 10yrs of experience in Boiler maintenance.
Familiarity with boiler control systems, instrumentation, and automation technologies (e.g., PLCs, DCS) used for monitoring and regulating boiler operations.
Strong ability to diagnose complex boiler issues, interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
