Specialist, Product Management – Cross Border Services
The Specialist, Product Management, Network Partnerships Cross Border Payments will assist in the management of the Mastercard Cross Border Services (MA XBS) partner network, comprising of banks, non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) and Telcos in Eastern Africa. Assist in managing existing direct and indirect connections with receiving service provider (RSP) relationships, while expanding the network in line with set objectives.
Responsibilities
Supporting the expansive MA XBS cash pick up network in the region to ensure smooth payouts including handling any escalations from customer service and transmission teams, visiting payout locations to assess quality of service of partners, and coordinating branding activities in conjunction with the marketing team.
Assist in being strategic point of contact with RSPs in the region and coordinating asks from various MA XBS workstreams with the RSPs including annual due diligence, reconciliation, treasury, legal, transmission, operations, and customer service.
Assist in relationship management of existing RSPs in the region.
Assist in managing all MA XBS network partnerships and last mile (endpoints) connectivity into Eastern Africa.
Assist in driving the expansion and improvement of the MA XBS network in the region in line with set objectives.
Assist in identifying for consideration opportunities for partnerships that will expand, smoothen, or deepen MA XBS endpoint offering and use cases.
Assist in supporting the regional stakeholders and commercialization teams with critical market insights and developments.
Assist in driving institutionalized knowledge with consistent documentation in all processes to support knowledge management and ensure consistency and repeatability across projects.
Staying up to date with relevant cross-border payments trends in the covered region, including attending relevant industry engagements wherever possible.
Experiences and Qualifications
At least 5 years exposure in business development in the cross-border remittances industry while working in a bank, fintech or telco.
Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects across cross-functional and inter-organizational teams spanning different geographies, time-zones, and cultures.
Ability to negotiate commercial terms with RSPs.
Ability to operate with complete independence and autonomy.
Ability to communicate with executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticity.
Exposure in international payments, foreign exchange, cash management, settlement, and reconciliation processes are highly desirable.
Experience with Salesforce is desirable.
