LendTech supports 24 operations in 23 countries, across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Our headquarters are in Nairobi, but we also have a global, diverse team in over 6 countries.

Our flagship products are Advance Credit Service (ACS) and Nano: ACS is an airtime or data advance offered to prepaid mobile subscribers at the point of low credit. Nano is a micro cash advance offered to mobile wallet users on demand.

As part of the Client Delivery Team, you will be responsible for leading the Solution Delivery Team of Engineers. You will also support the integration of partners to the LendTech Lending Platform that processes millions of advanced transactions daily and interconnects various platforms from all around the world. You will primarily work with the external Clients, Platform Team and PMO in controlling a software build through different stages and environments, including proposing design, testing, and deploying software releases. You will also supervise and carry out software updates and full documentation of any software released and implemented.

Primary Responsibilities

Developing and leading the Solution Delivery Team: The Solution Delivery Team is a Centre of Excellence that helps achieve better quality, consistency and Platform performance across all our Clients by developing and maintaining Deployment methodologies, standards and tools.
Establishing the organization’s approach to the full life cycle of Software release: This includes everything from project planning, initiation, resourcing and execution to monitoring, control and completion.
Ensuring the Solution Delivery Team meets performance targets: Align with the organization’s strategic objectives and adhere to best practices.
Acting as a trusted strategic advisor: Will work alongside the Client Teams, platforms and business leaders to help determine which projects should be undertaken, why and when, not just how.
Maintaining, and streamlining our build and release pipeline u sing data analysis from the production progress reports from code compilation, testing, to deploying releases to multiple environments. They perform integration, oversee release deployment and configure the software to all platforms
Responsible for assessing the quality and risks of new products. They build test environments and troubleshoot any issues pertaining to the software’s performance. Facilitating and championing the quick resolution of problems found during testing and implementation of software.
Will champion and lead the automation of all possible processes including but not limited to Release and monitoring
Creating and maintaining documentation of the build/release process.
Investigating tools and processes and integrating them so that they can improve the reliability, stability and efficiency with which we release our services.
Working closely with the development team to integrate new deployment processes and strategies to meet our feature requirements.
Maintain repository & Documentation of all technology release related processes.
Clear document and carry out knowledge transfer sessions with the Service Management Centre and operation teams.
Update the LendTech knowledge repository.
Proactively carry out existing system and software audits including design across all markets and share regular reports. Suggest improvements to solve audit issues noted and other recurring incidents or Problems.
Working closely with Client Support specialist Teams to troubleshoot and resolve incidents and problems when they arise
Participate in meetings/calls alongside the sales team, the PMO team and Account Management to assist at a technical level

What We’re Looking For

Leadership skills: Ability to effectively manage a Team and Strong Programming knowledge, Software development principles and computer languages. They should be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of programming best practices, knowledge of databases, networking systems, and computer operating systems.
Team player with a proven ability to lead, mentor and manage a team effectively ensuring the Company’s performance management structures are in place to ensure Company Objectives are met..
Strong communication, organizational and time management skills required. Monitor and measure progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and meet expectations.
Knowledge and experience in Bash scripting and other scripting languages
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills – testing new software to identify and resolve any potential issues is a major part of this role
Collaboration skills to work with software developers, project managers, testers, vendors, and others involved in the process
High energy, can-do, results-oriented personality
Ability to understand technical protocols and technologies (SMPP, SOAP, UCIP)
Experience with web release management lifecycle including scheduling, coordinating, and management of release across the enterprise for multiple applications.
Ability to deliver results under pressure and are comfortable adapting to any changes in the Development process.
