As part of our partnership with TWENDE SOLAR LTD and ICO POWER ESCO we are looking for an ambitious Solar Energy Sales Engineer to approach potential customers in the petrol station industry in Kenya and subsequently in a broader sales role in East Africa with the aim of winning new business, strive to maintain good relationships with clients and gaining repeat business wherever possible.
Key duties and responsibilities
Conduct solar market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs.
Actively seek out new solar sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media.
Design and preparation of solar project proposals in response to customer requirements.
Analyze customer’s electricity consumption and provide solar energy solutions.
Participation in solar project deployments, supervision, monitoring, inspection and designing.
Provide quality service and support to all clients from site survey, delivery, technical advice, and after-sales service.
Carry out technical service visits and provision of technical support as required.
Build relationships with strategic customers, suppliers and partners such as Twende Solar
Ensure a productive and effective working relationship with Twende Solar in Kenya and ICO POWER ESCO in East Africa
Create frequent reviews and reports with solar sales and financial data.
Ensure the availability of stock for sales and demonstrations.
Participate on behalf of the company in solar exhibitions or conferences.
Negotiate/close deals and handle customer complaints or concerns.
Collaborate with team members to achieve better sales results.
Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with the management.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
A degree in Electrical Engineering.
At least 3 years’ Experience as Solar Technical Sales Executives or sales Engineer.
Aptitude in delivering attractive presentations.
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
Thorough understanding of solar marketing and negotiating techniques.
Project management skills including ability to organize, schedule, prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
Excellent written and spoken English.
