Social Media Marketing Intern

The Social Media Intern role sits within our marketing team. This role requires an individual that is creative, self-driven, organized, and an ambitious tech-savvy/enthusiastic professional.  If you have experience any social media management, online communities, PR and events for brands across corporates, businesses or personalities then this is the job for you.

The social media intern will take a lead and collaborative role in acting as the voice of the Moringa brand online, coming up with social media & content strategies and managing all social media channels. This role may require you to be available to work on Saturdays, and/or on weekdays after office hours during events.
What You Will Do
Functional:

Support in the creation of a content marketing strategy for social media and maintain a social media calendar.
Support in the deployment of community strategy including virtual and live member events, participating in discussion forums, launching community-related initiatives, and organizing virtual gatherings
Support the daily management of all social platforms/channels: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn etc.
Support the management all Social Campaigns and executions (including asset creation)
Assist with curating content for monthly newsletters to keep the community informed and updated on the on-going activities within Moringa
Create, maintain, and promote a safe and vibrant community culture across all channels
Gather insights and issues from the community and work with internal teams to resolve them
Keep our community members up-to-date on courses, brand developments, milestones, student experience, staff experience etc
Advocate for and represent the needs of our community members to leadership ensuring alignment between company goals and public data
Collaborate in creating ideas that promote our brand, content, social media and community strategies
Increase local brand awareness and reach through digital media and influencer channels.
Provide engaging written, image, and video content for digital community platforms
Build relationships & respond to customers via social media in a timely manner
Stay-up-to-date with digital technology trends.

Organizational:

Communicate with colleagues and share insights on Slack, Email etc
Utilize tools like G-suite, Asana, OKR trackers, project management
Weekly coordination and training with the Senior Digital Marketing Associate
Participate in weekly team meetings and company wide meetings
Learning & Development.

Reporting:

Performance against set OKRs for Digital Marketing
Periodic social media reports & sentiments/insights from community channels
Monitor, track, and report on customer feedback, social media sentiments, and trends

What You Have
Required (Education and Experience):    

Relevant Degree in Marketing, Communications, PR & Events, Media or related fields
1 year work experience as a social media manager, pr & events lead, community outreach, digital community management  or marketing (highly desirable)
Proven success in meeting and exceeding performance goals.
Must have documented successful community management experience
Experience in video content creation, editing and storytelling 
Experience working in the tech ecosystem and/or educational institution (highly preferred)
A vibrant and creative individual with experience in content creation and storytelling 
Experience in crisis management for brands online
Graphics design experience is an added advantage
