Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate establishment of high levels of reliability and redundancy in the CS Core networks; Institute a robust quality improvement plan as well as a Business Continuity Plan.
Develop a long-term CS Core Network Deployment strategy with the objective of improving Capex Productivity in these domains & introducing new technology
Drive CS Core Network collection of business inputs, technical utilization trends and forecast for planning
work with key stakeholder groups to develop and execute a clear and consistent core network operational, expansion and evolution strategy and roadmap
Core network features and services optimization and capacity management
Manage high level relationships with key stakeholders, strategic outsourced partners, technology partners etc.
Formulate ways to promote efficiency in roaming services offered by Airtel Operations
Establish performance expectations and resource allocations consistent with short and longer term plans
Establish performance expectations and resource allocations consistent with short and longer term plans
Review subordinate performance and recommend appropriate rewards and recognition
Ensure that any new nodes in Core are 100% compliant of pre-approved SLA’s, processes and WLA’s by the Managed Capacity Partner
Routine monitoring and auditing of core network configuration maintained in liaison with the Managed Services Partner to ensure adherence to defined specifications
Evaluation of regular reports and KPI’s from Managed Services Partner on status and performance of the core network
Review and approve (or otherwise) requests by the managed Services partner for any design network changes that might have an impact on network performance
Reconciliation and resolution of core network management including Roaming issues that may arise
Participate in Planning and optimization of network Signaling service to improve International calls and SMS.
Drive & Deliver Business strategies on Roaming, SMS & IDD Business
Qualifications and skills critical to the role:
Bachelor of Engineer degree (communication, electronics, or related fields)
Sound knowledge of Mobile Network Planning, Optimization and O&M
Analytical, statistical and Presentation skill
5+ years’ experience in Core Network strategy & operations
Minimum 2 years management experience in network Performance & Roaming Management
Deep understanding of Core, Charging System, Packet Core, Service Layer and N/W Security
Good Understanding of Cloud Architecture.
Good understanding of SIP Protocol
Good understanding of IMS and Volte call flows
Deep understanding of all Voice & SMS call Flows at protocol level
Knowledge of 3GPP standards; CAMEL, Gy, Gx, Sy. Emerging technologies: IMS, LTE, VoLTE, M2M, voice charging and policy control.
Sound knowledge of system architecture, Optimization and/or O&M.
Micro level understanding of evolution of technology and roadmaps at techno-commercial level
Ability to innovate and deliver value to business at multiple levels
Drive & Deliver Business strategies on Roaming, SMS & IDD Business
Cross-functional working with IT, Revenue Assurance and Business and deliver solution best for the business
