Scope of Work
PRB seeks the services of a senior resource mobilization to lead and advise PRB’s Africa team on the following:
Articulate PRB’s approach to localization and partnerships in preparation for a PRB-sponsored event to be held in late February in Dakar
Develop the background concept for the event.
Assist in planning and facilitating the event.
Develop a resource mobilization plan to support implementation of priorities identified at the event, including for development of a PRB partnership model.
Draft concept notes in French and English for private funders on various topics, including but not limited to meaningful youth participation in governance and self-care.
Contribute to and review concept note revisions based on feedback from private funders.
Review success stories and other external marketing communications materials related to localization and partnerships.
Provide strategic advice, concept review, and introductions to new funders in Nairobi
Review and revise selected concept notes and proposal submissions prepared by PRB’s Kenya office
Facilitate partnership discussions, including formalizing of an MOU, with at least one regional partner
Facilitate PRB Kenya resource mobilization planning/priority setting for the remainder of the PRB fiscal year.
Make introductions to private funders in the region with whom PRM does not have a relationship.
Develop governance model for complex project implementation partnership.
Facilitate governance discussions.
Review description of governance operations.
Required Skills and Experience
Twenty-plus years of experience working on global health and development issues in developing countries in East and francophone West Africa, including in leadership positions for organizations based in those regions.
A record of accomplishment in resource mobilization from private funders to support global health and development activities.
Fluency in French and English along with an active network of global health and development partners, including academic and research institutions, policy advocacy organizations, and government partners.
Deep subject matter expertise and a record of successful fundraising in the East Africa and francophone West Africa following areas : self-care, safe abortion, reproductive health care, and reproductive health policy advocacy.
Outstanding written and oral communications skills in both French and English.
Strong preference will be given to individuals based in Dakar, Nairobi, or in the Africa region.
