Senior Program Finance Analyst

The Senior Program Finance Analyst demonstrates a high-level understanding of project financials. The Analyst will monitor and analyze financial data to inform risk mitigation and provide timely, thoughtful financial insight to aid management decisions. The Senior Program Finance Analyst will contribute to ensuring operational excellence and high-quality country support to ThinkWell.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with country teams, project directors, and program managers, as part of the global finance management team, to perform Monthly Budget review processes and analyze project budgets, actual expenses, commitments, obligations, and burn rates and lead financial analysis to identify trends, flag potential issues, and recommend actions to senior management.
Work closely with country accounting, program teams, and global accounting teams to ensure accurate expenditures are charged to the projects and posted in the financial system.
Monitor the overall implementation of projects activities spend against approved work plans, project scope and approved budgets.
Present budget versus actual variance analysis to program and country directors. Clarifying, explaining, and adjusting as needed.
Provide detailed input for the preparation of financial reports for donors.
Provide quality control for financial management of subawards including reviewing and processing subrecipient invoices and cash requests, with more in-depth monitoring when required.
Contribute to the financial dashboard to monitor the financial health of the company, including profit/loss and G&A spending.
Support the global annual corporate budgeting process, including re-forecasting and quarterly reviews of annual operating budget progress for senior management (surplus/deficit meetings).
Support in developing project budgets and realignment in collaboration with program management and global finance teams.
Review and process Operating Advance Requests (monthly cash requests) from field offices or provide inputs as needed.
Draft or revise financial sections of donor reports and coordinate team member input. 
In collaboration with relevant departments, assist in the development and roll out of training on key topics to both global and country office staff.
Support in internal and external audits, ensuring auditors queries and requests are handled promptly.
Relationship management on project financial aspects with clients and donors.
Support country teams to comply with donor/funder rules, regulations, and requirements as well as organizational policies through capacity building.
Support budget development for new proposals in collaboration with the business development and program teams.
Support country teams, program operational department and global accounting team in reviewing and updating financial and operational policies and procedures.
Provide other financial analyses as requested.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field. 
At least 7 years of related experience in donor-funded finance or accounting. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted.
Advanced budgeting and financial management experience; project management certification a plus;
Relevant work experience in a funding organization, management consulting firm, pharmaceutical industry, bilateral or multilateral development agency, and/or international NGO with some experience coordinating projects in low- or middle-income countries;
Demonstrated poise and professionalism in engaging with corporate clients, external partners, donors, and other stakeholders;
Expert Excel user, including pivot tables and advanced functions; familiarity with data query tools is helpful. 
Data savvy and skilled at visual display of data; must be highly fluent in Excel and PowerPoint;
Detail-oriented and able to multitask to support business initiatives and projects.
Familiarity with USAID or other international donors’ rules and regulations. 
Experience living or working outside the US preferred.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%.
