About the role
The Senior Product Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the strategy and execution of our end-to-end Insurance management and CRM system and all associated products and services. This role combines the business-oriented, stakeholder-focused responsibilities of a Product Manager with the solution-oriented, engineering-focused duties of a Product Owner.
The successful hire will bridge the gap between stakeholders’ needs and technical execution to deliver exceptional insurance solutions across our African markets. The ideal hire has extensive demonstrable experience in the design and inner workings of financial services CRMs i.e. payments, reconciliation, settlement, integrations, fraud, and security features.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the product strategy, aligning it with Turaco’s business goals and partner & customer needs.
Analyze customer and partner needs and pain points through user research and feedback loops. Translate these insights into a clear product vision and roadmap.
Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
Work closely with the designer, engineering team, and subject matter experts to get requirements well-scoped, designed, tested, and built.
Establish product delivery timelines in close collaboration with the technology teams.
Analyze and investigate product complaints or reported quality issues to ensure closure
Train users on new features and the systems in general
Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in the financial services landscape, specifically products related to insurance technology.
Analyze user needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from an ROI and build vs. buy perspective
Prioritize features and user stories for development sprints, ensuring alignment with the product roadmap and business goals.
Conduct user acceptance testing (UATs) to validate that delivered features meet the specified requirements and user expectations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, design, Commercial, and Customer Operations, to ensure a seamless end-to-end product delivery.
Monitor and analyze product performance, using data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Stay up-to-date on the latest processes and advancements to automate and modernize systems.

Bachelor/Undergraduate degree with excellent grades.
Additional training in Product Management methodologies and human-centered design are a great addition.
Experience applying agile methodologies and product ownership
Demonstrable design thinking abilities
6+ years of professional experience in a dynamic product management/ownership/design role
Experience especially in the fintech, insuretech, or payments spaces is a plus.
Extensive demonstrable experience in the design and inner workings of financial services CRMs
Highly effective in cross-functional stakeholder management and an excellent team player
Strong communication skills, and a natural project manager
Ability to navigate ambiguity, juggle multiple tasks, think independently, demonstrate sound judgment, and problem-solve
