We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Pediatric Nurse to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview: As a Senior Pediatric Nurse at Kilimani Children’s Clinic, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to our young patients. You will work with a team of nurses and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being and comfort of our pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric nursing, excellent leadership skills, and a genuine commitment to providing compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients, including administering medications, drawing blood, giving childhood vaccinations, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with treatments and procedures.
Complete the necessary MOH reporting requirements ensuring timely and accurate submission.
Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for pediatric patients.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and protocols.
Educate patients and their families about pediatric health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care measures.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of pediatric nursing practices at Kilimani Children’s Clinic.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in pediatric nursing, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of pediatric assessment, treatment, and care protocols.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Commitment to delivering compassionate care and advocating for the needs of pediatric patients.
Current CPR certification and other relevant certifications/licenses as required.
Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
Pediatric Nursing is an added advantage.
Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya with a valid Practice License.
Proficiency in computer applications.
