Senior Manager, Innovation, Safe Water

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development of the Innovation team, a new and important sub-team within the Global Safe Water team which will set the direction for our future work.
Build, manage, and develop a high-performing team
Apply innovation, partnership and innovative finance thinking and principles to consider new ways in which programs can be piloted and scaled.
Work with colleagues to identify and design projects through the development of an innovation process, defining problem statements, identifying solutions and designing interventions to test and iterate. Key is bringing innovation to key program barriers and thinking creatively about solutions.
Work with in country and regional teams to execute the projects, bringing in other cross cutting teams, to ensure effective delivery and learning is extracted for replication.
Will Manage complex and multi-faceted projects across multiple leaders to successful completion.
Provide project management support through the project cycle, ensuring coordination with specific global teams including Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, Cost Effectiveness, New Program Development.
Support the delivery of the wider Safe Water team strategy; supporting linkages between program implementation, new country expansion and the innovation team.
Support wider organizational priorities such as communications and external relations including supporting proposal development, reporting and stakeholders management.

Requirements

7 to 10 years experience of working in diverse, global contexts; Bachelor’s Degree
Experience of strategic thinking and planning and the translation of this into program results; ability to connect the dots on ideas and thinking, turning open ended problems into opportunities for the team and organization.
Experience in project management, delivered ideally in a complex organizational structure and cross culturally (often in different time zones).
Experience in real time problem solving, as part of smaller cross cutting teams and adept at using an analytical and entrepreneurial approach to trade risks with rewards and support innovation.
Experience in the WASH sector, and specifically in the water sector; specifically peri-urban and urban project and program delivery focused on water service provision to low income households in challenging environments.
Ability to adapt quickly to new and dynamic contexts and thrive in ambiguity.
Strong alignment with core values of Evidence Action.
Eager to join a growing team and organization in a role requiring extensive (25%) travel across program geographies.
