Senior Lecturer – NDU5

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities will be as follows;

Undertake teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Undertake research and produce publications or other research outputs
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research
Participate in curriculum development and review
Examination preparation, administration and management
Participate in administration and management of departmental programmes and activities
Develop learning materials
Undertake community outreach activities;
Attract research and development funds.
Participate in the development and review of academic programmes
Guide and counsel students
Where appropriate provide leadership in the department or school.
Attending and participating in research conferences and seminars
Perform any other related duty assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT
For appointment to this position a candidate must have the following qualifications;

Possess an earned PhD or equivalent Doctoral degree in Crisis and Disaster Management, or a relevant PhD from an accredited and recognized university;
Have three (3) years teaching experience at the university level as a Lecturer OR six (6) years Research/Industry experience
Be registered and actively affiliated with the relevant professional body (where applicable);
A minimum of thirty-two (32) publications points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be in a refereed scholarly journal;
Supervised at least three (3) postgraduate students to completion as lecturer or equivalent.
Proficiency in computer applications;
Fulfil the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.

Recommendations from relevant professional bodies;
Clearances from the following;

Kenya Revenue Authority
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
Higher Education Loans Board;
Any of the registered Credit Reference Bureaus;
Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Police Clearance Certificate)
