Position summary:
The position holder will assist in the administration and provision of the Human Resource services at the Kisumu Field Station.
Job Specification
Duties and responsibility for this position will entail: –
Verification of information relating to recruitment, appointment, transfers, and Human Resource Management records;
Assist in drafting of annual performance management reports;
Updating and maintaining recruitment, selection and training documents;
Assist in management of medical insurance matters for all staff and updating of data pertaining to the medical insurance benefits, GPA and Group life schemes;
Participate in payroll processing;
Processing and computing of all categories of leave;
Assist with management and maintenance of the Human Resource Information System.
Manage personnel records and general HR files, ensuring confidentiality.
Assist in managing staff separation in coordination with relevant parties.
Assist with general administration of the Human Resource functions at MRD-K Kisumu site.
Provide technical and administrative support in recruitment activities including drafting and posting advertisements.
Co-ordinate and conduct induction and all related onboarding procedures for all new staff
Track staff probations, ensure end of probation evaluations are undertaken and appropriate recommendations
Assist in co-ordination of the performance management processes including providing technical support to the heads of departments and sections and ensure that all evaluations and appraisals are undertaken as scheduled.
Provide, foster and maintain good relationship between the management and staff.
Remain cross-trained and competent in Administrative Assistant duties and provide coverage as needed.
Other duties that may be assigned from time to time by management.
Person Specifications
For this appointment, an officer must have: –
Minimum of four (4) years relevant work experience;
Diploma in any of the following disciplines; Human Resource Management, Personnel Management, Human Resource Development, Industrial Relations, Labour Relations or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Membership to Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM);
Demonstrated work performance and results;
Proficiency in computer application;
Fulfill the Requirement of Chapter six of the Constitution
