What will you do?
Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.

Serve as a key business partner that ensures financial viability and accountability is built into all programs and processes at Compassion.
Prepare and assist in the preparation of the annual Africa region budget or a segment of it. Gather input from all stakeholders, organize and analyze the data, and prepare it for approval and administration. Be adaptable to the changing environments of the ministry and guide partners through the current financial realities.
Conduct detailed research and stay abreast of regional economic and risk trends, often in collaboration with risk partners and apply this knowledge to ongoing projects and processes. Update management and colleagues to assure successful and effective financial planning.
Partner directly with the National Offices and Regional leadership, foster alignment on business priorities and drive scales for the ministry. Constructively communicate compelling recommendations based on data and facts as well as obtain support to collectively deliver on program objectives.
Facilitate intake process for risk and opportunities and upcoming National Office needs
Prepare and assist in standardized management reporting, provide budget variance explanations
Collaborate with finance teams, consult with all clients to publish data reports. Ensure extreme accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
Work individually and cross-functionally on teams to create commentary and financial models of “what if” scenarios to influence future planning decisions in areas like National Office operating expenses and grant. Convey the information in a way that tells a story to non-finance leaders.
Evaluate and analyze major financial levers involving disaster, macroeconomic events, proposals, investment opportunities, operating records, and financial statements.
Ensure financial integrity and accountability is built into all programs and processes at Compassion.
Coach and collaborate with other National Office analysts and related staff.
What do you bring?
Eight to Ten years Relevant experience working in this or a related field.
Experience working cross-culturally across the Africa region with multiple stakeholders and leaders; strong communication and collaboration skills.
Strong experience in financial planning, especially in creating longer-term/multi-year outlooks/plans/projections.
Certification from a nationally or internationally recognized organization in a related field.
English language required, Swahili/French strongly preferred.
NGO experience strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
