Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, Foundry

Overview

Mastercard are looking for a talented Cloud platform engineer to join the Mastercard Foundry team. In this role you will work in a highly agile team to support product development and innovation projects, managing cloud-based hosting environments as well as the implementation and maintenance of development services.

Our team is built on a foundation of research and development, mining innovation internally and creating new product lines with emerging technologies. As part of Foundry, the team both supports the existing environments but also research’s new technologies and processes to continuously push our hosting environment and development experience. 

Role

Role requires working with various cross-functional engineering specialists, project managers and application development teams to define and implement a cloud-based hosting solution
Responsible for supporting the running applications, infrastructure and development teams on a day to day basis
Captures technical requirements and defines technology solutions for approval; creates the  conceptual, logical, and physical design of the solution to ensure appropriate technology is acquired and implemented
Evaluates technologies and determines strengths and weaknesses of technology architecture,  implementation and suitability; recommends solutions to ensure consistency with the company  vision
Ensures technical feedback from stakeholders is brought back to ensure it is taken into  consideration for future technology and solution directions
Support Mastercard Foundry’s 24 x7 Production cloud environment
Participate in an on-call rotation with infrastructure team

All About You

Knowledge/Experience (Preferred):

Experience building and supporting cloud & hybrid infrastructure – Azure, AWS, GCP, VmWare, OpenShift
Experience in containerization solutions – Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, OCP), Docker
Experienced in pipeline development for CI/CD
Solid grasp of configuration management and infrastructure automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet
Strong knowledge of code versioning and build tools such as Jenkins, Git, Artifactory

Additional Experience (Beneficial)

Having any of the following will also be beneficial but not essential:
Solid networking background (TCP/IP, TLS & cert management, Load Balancing, Routing, Switching & IP networking
Any experience supporting database instances – RDBMS or NoSQL (e.g. Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB) 
Experience with environmental and application monitoring tools (e.g Splunk, Grafana, DynaTrace, Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus, ELK etc)
Any Cloud deployment certification – AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or MCSE Cloud Platform & infrastructure 
Ai/ML & Data science knowledge & experience
