Senior Accountant / Financial Controller Credit Controller

Here is what you will do:

Help oversee the day-to-day accounting of the business and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately, timely, and in compliance with accounting standards
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including tax and statutory payment requirements in Kenya as well as potential new markets
Ensure books are reconciled and closed out in a timely manner each month
Support in preparation of monthly management reports
Help manage projects to automate accounting workflows to enable close to real-time reporting and analysis
Lead annual audit preparation and communication with auditors
Regularly review and update key financial policies and procedures as needed and ensure company-wide compliance

Requirements

BS/MS degree in business administration, finance, or accounting, or equivalent experience in the workforce
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Kenya or abroad
Minimum 8 years of work experience in finance-related functions with management oversight over bookkeeping, accounting, and/or financial reporting
Detailed understanding of Kenyan tax and statutory payment requirements (knowledge and experience working in additional African markets a plus)
Expert working with Quickbooks Online and Microsoft Excel
Highly motivated, adaptable, self-starter who is committed to continuous improvement
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Strong attention to detail and zero tolerance for a lapse in financial controls
Team player with a desire to help grow junior team members
