The main duties will include but are not limited to:
Implementing personnel management measures within the security department, inclusive of skills development programs to enhance professional capabilities
Providing technical expertise appropriate to the knowledge of risk and cost-effective delivery of security solutions
Managing all security-related incidents and ethical issues in a systematic manner and investigating violations conforming to the relevant laws of Kenya without disrupting operations, in a fair and objective manner aligned with Bases’ values at both Port & Mine sites.
Developing and maintaining contingency or emergency security action plans
Reporting security-related matters and analysis of statistical data and maintaining up-to-date periodical information.
Participating in security forums to contribute to a safe and secure operating environment and considering initiatives that can be executed collectively within the ambit of law and company policies
Developing and administering the annual security budget and managing the expenditure plans
To succeed you will have:
A tertiary qualification in Security Risk Management or an equivalent work experience
A minimum of 5 years of working experience in a supervisory role
Demonstrable leadership, interpersonal, and networking skills
Proven track record of developing and implementing effective standard operating procedures and contingency plans.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good computer skills in MS Office
A Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) certification is an added advantage
Good understanding of workplace Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures
Demonstrable ability to work in a challenging environment with a multinational workforce
A valid Police Clearance Certificate and a valid Driving License
A “Can Do” attitude
