This challenging position will offer a unique opportunity to join a brand-new start-up with offices through-out the continent. The position is based in Kenya and will report to the Kenya Country Manager, as well as the Global Head of Marketing.
Job Responsibilities
Sales
Lead the Sales team and ensure targets are met.
Monitor sales metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
Ensure sales team maintain accurate data and required paperwork i.e. client’s information, activity reports, correspondence e.t.c.
Proactively identify new potential clients and initiate, follow up, acquisition of new accounts,
Lead in creation and refinement of sales processes, procedures and reporting structure
Ensure sales team continuously follow up on leads assigned
Provide feedback to all arms of the business i.e marketing, logistics, customer care to enhance the Customer experience and quality of service so that the customer is satisfied
Key Accounts
Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success
Ensure generation of new business using existing and potential customer networks
Report on the status of accounts and orders made
Set and track sales account targets, aligned with company objectives
Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
Attend exhibitions an events to meet new & existing clients
Identify issues and provide feedback on possible barriers to customer satisfaction; conduct follow up on tasks as well us make frequent visits to ensure customer intimacy
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Marketing , Business Administration/ Management, Commerce (marketing), Entrepreneurship or its equivalent from a reputable institution
At least 5 years’ Experience in sales or account management, with at least 2years in a senior position
Previous experience leading a sales team
Self-starter
Proven strength in the ability to grow sales and develop clients’ relationships
Knowledgeable about the ecommerce industry
Strong sales, negotiation and communication skills
Good analytical and problem solving skills
