Purpose
To promote and sell healthcare devices and equipment to healthcare professionals and institutions through advertising, marketing, and distributing to relevant establishments. The successful candidate will meet with doctors and hospital teams and make presentations to persuade potential clients to use medical equipment, devices, and consumables, to a variety of customers including general practitioners (GPs), hospital doctors, pharmacists, and nurses. A large amount of time will be spent traveling to and from clients.
The role acts as a liaison between the company and healthcare professionals such as doctors, hospitals, and similar practices. Their goal is to sell their products on behalf of the company, create a well-rounded client base, and maintain those relationships.
In addition, the Medical Device Sales Officer will provide customer-specific account management and coordination, resulting in best-in-class customer service, customer retention, and organic sales growth within existing accounts.
You may also be required to give demonstrations of products to medical professionals, so having a good understanding of the medical field or previous medical experience is a major advantage
Key Responsibilities
Assess customer needs and promote suitable products.
Understanding the customer’s objectives, buying criteria and decision-making processes, and forming long term business partnerships to leverage revenue from the relationship and promote the organization as a quality supplier with the aim of achieving “preferred” supplier status
Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas. Driving incremental revenue through successful sales activities
Pursue business opportunities, seek company prequalification, and follow through on tender bidding.
Actively participate in relevant stakeholder meetings and position MQG as the Medical Equipment solutions partner.
Ensure regular market assessments of products and prices are conducted to inform the business to meet business plans – and driving more to a breaking even position.
Give providers product information and perform product demonstrations.
Develop relationships and network with doctors, surgeons, and hospital administrators.
Identifying customers’ needs and recommending company products that best fulfill those needs.
Maintaining solid working relationships with new and existing customers by providing excellent after-sales service.
Arranging conferences, trade shows and group events for medical professionals to network and generate leads.
Regularly attending industry events, training, company meetings, briefings, and educational workshops.
Researching competitors’ products, pricing, and market success.
Promptly submitting purchase orders to the relevant department.
Preparing sales reports as well as territory analyses and submitting them to management.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, or degrees in sales and marketing, business administration etc. with experience in medical device sales industry.
At least 4-5 years of medical equipment sales experience with a proven successful track record
Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels.
Willing to travel at least 50% of the time for business purposes.
Sound knowledge of medical terminologies and processes.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
