Role
The Sales Director will have the following responsibilities:
Sales:
Accelerate REDAVIA’s sales growth in Kenya by exceeding quarterly volume targets
Execute solar farm leasing agreements in line with REDAVIA’s commercial guidelines
Identifying potential customers for lease-to-own or rental solar farms
Visiting customers across Kenya, especially in and around Nairobi
Manage client decision making processes and technical inputs to close deals
Negotiate and close solar farm lease agreements with commercial and industrial customers
Customer account management:
Managing client communications during the solar farm lease
Resolving contractual and commercial issues throughout deployment
Ensure ongoing customer relationship management to secure up-sell opportunities
Support for other functions:
Helping the company develop and execute its Go-To-Market strategy, aimed at positioning itself as the market leader in the solar leasing space
Helping shape the lead generation strategy, such as branding, advertising, and online and events presence.

Candidate credentials
Track record:
At least 5-10 years of demonstrated experience with B2B Sales, e.g. in solar, diesel generators, or other industrial equipment in Kenya
Excellent track-record of closing B2B sales deals
Proven track-record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Knows and is known in the Kenyan industrial and commercial business network
Personal qualities:
“Sales animal” with a closer mindset
Exceptionally strong relationship and rapport builder
Affinity with a rigorously tracked and process-driven sales organization
Highly developed skills in organizational stakeholder management
Comfortable with negotiating commercial contracts
Enjoys the challenge of growing a new company’s sales volume
Possesses a non-hierarchical attitude and strong team spirit
Affinity with power sector, especially renewable energy and sustainable development
Background:
Fluent English speaker
Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering background preferred
Minimum of 5-10 years of success in a best-practice sales organization
