Key Responsibilities:
Safety Management System (SMS): Implement, monitor, and maintain the company’s SMS in compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
Risk Assessment: Conduct safety risk assessments and hazard identification to ensure proactive mitigation of risks in operations.
Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses, providing thorough analysis and actionable recommendations.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all aviation safety regulations.
Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of aircraft, equipment, and facilities to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Training: Develop and deliver employee safety training programs, enhancing safety awareness and promoting a safety-first culture.
Safety Reporting: Maintain accurate safety records and provide timely reports to management and regulatory bodies.
Emergency Response Planning: Support developing and testing emergency response plans, ensuring readiness in case of incidents.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Certification in safety management systems.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety-related role within the Kenyan aviation industry.
Strong knowledge of SMS principles, aviation safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Proficiency in safety management software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Experience in accident investigation is an added advantage.
