Job description
Sunbird is looking for someone with a proven track record rolling out new sites for a reputable brand within the real estate sector (e.g. FMCG, hospitality, offices).
Sunbird is a fast-growing brand providing flexible offices and now wish to roll out multiple new sites across Sub-Sahara Africa.
This position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya with significant travel across the Continent and will be responsible for managing and overseeing the closing of all new Sunbird sites in a timely manner including liaising with all relevant departments at Sunbird including Finance, Product, HR, Marketing and Fit Out.
Principle Duties To Include
Maintain relationships with all key stakeholders on the ground including Landlord, anchor tenant and all brokers
Liaise with Real Estate Director and Finance to appoint fit out contractor and then project manage to make sure contractor is working to budget and time
Liaise with Legal Team to oversee contractual terms with the Contractor
Liaise with Product team to make sure Contractor and ‘Finishing Team’ is delivering on the Sunbird Design Guidelines (as dictated by the Product Team)
Hiring of key personnel including Country Managers, Centre Manager, Finance Manager and Sales Manager to make sure that site is operational as soon as fit out is completed
Identify key broker relationships in country and build a network of relationships for potential sales in country.
Maintain systems for oversight of development of each new site (pipeline)
Develop and maintain strong relationships both internally and externally to facilitate transactions
Capabilities To Include
Proven track record managing and operating on multiple roll out of new sites for a reputable brand (within the Real Estate Market e.g. FMCG, hospitality, offices)
Proven track record on building a team to deliver on the above roll outs
Ability to build relationships and recruit (soft skill) as well as project manage roll outs (hard skill)
Excellent project management skills and the ability to lead and manage detailed, time-sensitive initiatives in a fast-paced environment with little supervision
Strong time management skills and experience managing numerous deals simultaneously
Ability to interface seamlessly with a global team
Ideally experience and understanding of running projects in developing markets and challenges involved
Must be based in Nairobi, Kenya and willing to travel and
Impeccable and concise communication and presentation skills, verbal and written
Excels under pressure; ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
Strong personality willing to roll up sleeves to make sure, in the toughest environments, that goals and deadlines are met
