Risk Information and Coordination Expert – Consultant

Qualifications/special skills

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in disaster risk reduction, administration, management, economics, social sciences, engineering or a related field is required.
A first-level university degree in combination with at least two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required.
Experience in the domain of risk knowledge, risk assessment, disaster risk data, quantitative data analysis and use of risk information in decision-making (policy/planning/investment), sustainable development and climate change or related area is required.
Work experience in disaster risk reduction relevant aspects of sustainable development, early warning systems, development planning, humanitarian planning is desirable.
Relevant experience working for international organizations such as the United Nations is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English and French is required.
