Resident Assistant

Summary:

Resident Assistants will report to the Housing Officer.

Qualifications:

Applicants must:

Be undergraduate students
Be students with strong leadership qualities
Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above
Be at least sophomores (2nd year) at the University
Have basic knowledge about first aid and peer counseling or be willing to undertake such courses.
Be upright students with clean disciplinary record as USIU-Africa.

Responsibilities:

General responsibilities include; checking-in and out of residents from the hostels, orienting new students, maintaining discipline in the hostels, assisting sick residents, supervising cleaners, responding to residents’ concerns, assessing hostel maintenance needs, relieving hostels receptionists for lunch and dinner breaks, mediating disputes among residents and any other duties as assigned.
Resident Assistants start duties a day before the hostels open for check-in and continues through exam week.

Terms:
The Resident Assistant will serve for a period of three (3) semesters dependent upon positive evaluations. Resident Assistants may reapply for an additional term of employment.Interested candidates should submit a letter of application with a copy of their resume listing related experience and other certificates to the Financial Aid Office, not later than Thursday, July 20, 2023.
