Purpose of the role
Undertake trade research activities that ensure efficient and effective trade facilitation and promotion that supports KNCCI members and potential investors.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct research on policy and regulatory changes, including trade standards, tariffs, licensing, and fiscal policies.
Conduct research, collation, and acquisitions of product and market information for export trade and disseminate to members through bulletins.
Assist in global policy analysis and interpreting economic trends and developments in the international environments that impact Kenya’s export products and markets.
Carry out trade flow analysis of countries to ascertain demand and supply opportunities.
Conduct trade policy-related research aimed at enhancing business competitiveness.
Providing market intelligence on comparator strategies, policies, and factors determining export performance.
Support to develop a trade facilitation database, tracking customs procedures, non-tariff barriers, and ease-of-doing business indicators.
Develop sector-based trade flow analysis, market trends, and competitive positioning at local and international levels.
Academic/Professional Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, or any business-related field
Minimum 5 years of proven work experience in market research data analysis, or business advisory roles.
Good data analysis/quantitative and presentation skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be conversant with both local and international trade
