Research & Design Lead Billing Engineer – Revenue Management Support Infrastructure Planning & Capacity Management Team Lead Systems Administrator- IT Infrastructure Engineer – Database Administration

Reporting to the Research and Design Tech Lead the role holder will be responsible for scouting, developing & testing prototypes & piloting, refining and adopting new technologies to solve current problems, improving operation efficiencies and to create new platforms that support new business opportunities. Working with partners, Project teams, Squads as well as virtual IT delivery teams to implement various projects and business deliverables. Break down complex requirements into simple trackable tasks. Be committed to high quality output and delivery on time.
The main duties are:

Scout new technologies and vendors to enable innovation and identify technical enablers
Developing and testing prototypes
Piloting, refining and adopting new technologies and partner solutions
Responsible for Solutions Design and specifications with Quarterly target focus
Support setting up of crowdsourcing initiatives to generate innovative ideas and concepts
Coordinate with other engineers, management and partners on research and design work           

Key Responsibilities                                                                                                              

Responsible for research and design initiatives by sourcing, developing and driving new technology capabilites.
Responsible for delivering 70% of the projects on time
Ensure agile is implemented in all of the projects
Maintain an accurate registry of all research and design projects  with various statuses and ensure stakeholders are appraised at all times

 Leadership:

Align with business product leads & PMO on project KPI’s, milestones and timelines                                                                                                                    
Attend relevant meetings to align with business and customer needs needs
Regular team and one-on-one engagements
Build the team skillset as per digital skills priority areas.
Team performance management
Provide budget inputs for research and design solutions.
Drive technology and platform discussions

 Business Analysis:

Weekly Delivery reporting to BU HoDs and Senior Managers on the status of their deliverables
Responsible for gathering, detailing and documenting all business requirements
Development of use cases that align and guide research and design initiatives

Solutions Design:

Ensure test plans cover all aspects of Business Requirements and existing business rules
Responsible for Solutions Design to meet business requirements and non-functional requirements
Drive new solutions leveraging technology that inform evolution
Collaboratively oversee the development/configuration of solutions as per agreed designs
Provide advisory input into all new system considerations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Science/computer science/Engineering/Business related.
Strong business acumen and mindset
5+ years of technical experience in a busy IT development environment, 2 years of which must include experience in designing systems and solutions.
3+ years’ Experience in Technical Leadership of large IT projects
Team player who is skilled at building up and managing stakeholder relationships successfully
Ability to persuade stakeholders and to champion effective techniques through delivery
Ability to drive initiatives in new areas
A curious and innovative mind that built things.
Love for new technologies that purposefully drive impact
