PURPOSE:
The holder of this position will work closely with the ARO and assist in data collection, organization, transcription and analysis for Vukisha95 Project in Kisii County.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Collection:
Assist in designing and implementing data collection instruments (e.g., surveys, interviews, focus groups)
Conduct primary data collection through various methods such as interviews and abstraction of data
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of collected data
Data Management:
Organize and manage datasets, ensuring that data is properly stored and easily accessible
Maintain detailed records of data collection processes and data management activities
Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and confidentiality agreements
3. Data Analysis:
Transcribe qualitative data from interviews, focus groups, and other sources
Code and analyze qualitative data using NVivo software
Assist in identifying patterns, themes, and insights from the data
Prepare data for presentations, reports, and publications
Report Writing:
Assist in writing research reports
Summarize findings and prepare visual representations of data, such as charts, graphs, and tables
COMPETENCY CRITERIA
Education Requirements, Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Sociology, Psychology, Education, Public Health)
Experience in qualitative research methods and data collection
Proficiency in NVivo software for qualitative data analysis
Familiarity with research ethics and confidentiality protocols
Training on Good Clinical Practices or Protection of Human Subjects
Skills knowledge & abilities
Excellent communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work with very minimal supervision
Ability to effectively work as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills
