Job Summary
The Research Assistant will extract relevant data from medical charts of eligible Type I diabetes mellitus patients transfer into Microsoft excel sheet for a study titled: Autoantibody profile, clinical features, and glycemic control amongst Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) pediatric patients in Nairobi County, Kenya.
Responsibilities
Undertake a systematic search and synthesize literature providing background information for the project.
Proofread and edit documents for clarity, grammar, and adherence to formatting requirements.
Collect data from medical record files of study participants using Microsoft Excel at Aga Khan University Hospital and Gertrude’s children hospital.
Perform data cleaning and prepare datasets for analysis.
Maintain organized files and documentation related to research project whilst upholding confidentiality of patient information.
Participate in team meetings and provide regular updates on data collection process to study investigators.
Support with coordination of study activities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field (e.g., Nursing, Public Health, Biology, Psychology, or a similar discipline
Previous experience in clinical research mainly retrospective study or healthcare setting preferred.
Excellent time-management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
