Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Principal Institutional Research Officer, the Research Analyst position coordinates all research related aspects of the Work Stream B of MasterCard Foundation’s Scholars Program e-Learning Initiative. The incumbent of the position will be fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action and provide strong support at all stages of Research, Monitoring & Evaluation of the project.
Responsibilities:
Determining the project’s research needs and conducting market research/validation, monitoring and evaluation
Collaborating with other MasterCard Foundation partners and stakeholders on MERL activities
Developing and administering survey instruments, management, collection and analyzing of data that will provide insights and help focus efforts towards achievement of the Initiatives’ goals
Measuring outcomes of the e-Learning Initiative and providing project monitoring updates and reports for decision making.
Leveraging on analytics to determine the effectiveness of activities and make continual improvements.
Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics or related field that involves research design, implementation and analysis from an accredited university.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in data analysis i.e. proven track record in programming and data analysis (qualitative and quantitative).
Demonstrate competency in Excel, SPSS, STATA, R or any other statistical software.
Personal Attributes & Competencies
Knowledge of major evaluation methodologies.
Experience in developing M&E plans including indicators selection, target setting, reporting, database management and developing M&E performance monitoring plans.
Ability to pay attention to details, prioritize projects and set and meet deadlines.
Report writing and presentation skills.
Knowledge management.
Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Training data collectors.
Ability to supervise a diverse team.
Quality results oriented and team player.
Commitment to promote quality, equitable and inclusive education through eLearning.
Working relations:
Internal: Faculty, Deans, Academic Chairs, ICT staff, e-Learning Team.
External: Service providers, Suppliers, other Universities, schools, Project consultants.
