Job Purpose:
To have a holistic view of all accounts within his/her portfolio, using lead generation & account prioritization to cross sell Bank Products and extract value from said portfolio whilst maintaining/ building customer relationship and account information
Key Responsibilities
Grow both Retail & SME customer portfolio size (product per customer, non-funded income, deposits and assets) by acquiring new to Bank customers and deepening existing customer relationships
Actively generates referrals to all business partners in the bank to help meet the comprehensive financial needs of entrepreneurs or borrowing entity
Ensure a clear retention plan for overall portfolio deposits and loans for the segment, to execute this plan in conjunction with Branch Managers
Proactively anticipate customer needs and propose solution in collaboration with product specialist
Ensure prompt resolution of customer queries and in an appropriate manner
Understand business, the life-cycles and the various product offerings that can be given to the customer
Evaluate credit proposals and ensure the credit applications process on a timely basis with the bank’s set turnaround times
Prepare reports in time and ensure all customers engagements are recorded accordingly
Ensure compliance with both internal and external regulatory requirements
Continuously follow business operational and credit policies ensuring their compliance
Safeguard and promote the bank’s image with the general public
Contact the client immediately (meeting him/her in person if required) in the event of nonpayment of a facility instalment, and, if not resolved, take subsequent actions to recover credit in arrears according Bank procedures.
Review and provide detailed input into the credit proposals prepared by the SME Analyst, noting that the RM is ultimately responsible for preparing a comprehensive, high-quality credit proposal
Support the credit appraisal, disbursement and recovery (where necessary) processes in line with the policies and procedures
Take a proactive approach to client planning across the portfolio collaborating with product partners and senior management, as appropriate
Ensuring that Shariah-related guidelines, Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and other policies are adhered to
Ensuring that all customer information and queries are treated in line with confidentiality agreements as per the RM’s employment contract with the Bank.
Skills, Experience and Competencies
Business graduate from an accredited university preferably with a major in Finance, Marketing and/or Economics
At least four (4) years’ experience in banking, with proven experience of at least two (2) years in a similar position or at least 3 years banking experience with sales/marketing background, where he/she managed a portfolio of Retail and/or SME clients
Experience in business development and relationship management
