Role Purpose
The role holder will be responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational aspects of asset management within the organization.
This role focuses on developing and implementing strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering a strong corporate governance culture, and providing leadership to drive business growth and maximize asset performance.
Main Responsibilities
Strategy:

 Implementation the strategic plan for the asset management division, aligned with the overall corporate strategy.
 Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and potential risks to drive growth and profitability.
 Monitor industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging market conditions to adjust strategies accordingly.

Partnerships and Alliances

 Identify strategic partnerships and alliances that can enhance the firm’s distribution channels and market reach.
 Collaborate with strategic partners to leverage synergies and mutually beneficial opportunities.

Pipeline Management:

 Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, tracking prospects through the sales funnel and ensuring consistent follow-up.
 Monitor key performance metrics and report progress to senior management.

Client Relationship Management:

 Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, including institutional investors, high net worth
individuals, family offices, and other relevant entities.
 Understand their investment needs, goals, and risk appetites to tailor solutions that meet their requirements.

Market Intelligence:

 Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes that could impact the asset management landscape. Translate market insights into actionable strategies.

Collaboration:

 Collaborate closely with the investment team, marketing department, and senior management to align business development efforts with investment strategies and overall company objectives.

Reporting and Analysis:

 Provide regular reports and analysis on business development activities, market trends, and client feedback. Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and drive continuous improvement.

Corporate Governance (Regulatory and Compliance):

 Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to asset management activities.
 Keep abreast of regulatory changes and communicate their impact on the asset management division.

Leadership and Culture:

 Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the asset management division.
 Encourage a client-centric approach, ensuring high-quality service delivery and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
 Ensure ethical conduct, integrity, and accountability throughout the division

Key Competencies

 Achievement of financial targets, such as assets under management (AUM), revenue, and profitability.
 Compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
 Ensure client satisfaction and retention.
 Timely and accurate reporting on activities and performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, actuarial science, economics, business administration, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as Chartered Institute for Securities Investment (CISI)) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) would be advantageous.
Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA) is highly desirable.

Relevant Experience

Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in asset management, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity
