Reporting to the Head of Regulatory, the incumbent’s role will include but not limited to;
Build and maintain cordial relationships with all key stakeholders such as Communication Authority, Central Bank of Kenya, Government, GSMA, FSD and other PSP providers
Provides analysis and counsel on regulatory issues, suggesting ways to maximize licensing opportunities and minimize environmental threats
In consultation with the Head of Regulatory, develop the company’s position on agreed issues to lobby with the government and Regulator
Review Licensing terms and conditions and benchmark with global best practices
Obtain approvals for new products, tariffs or promotion from Communications Authority and new or updated agent models from the Central Bank of Kenya as and when required
Review competitor action to ensure that it is within the law and to take appropriate action in cases of violation.
Implement Regulatory Compliance Management System for Airtel Kenya
Draw and manage interconnection agreements and support Finance in the collection of interconnect debt
Provide all Legal and Regulatory support to Airtel Money Kenya including developing contracts and agreements between Airtel Money and key stakeholders e.g., Trust Entity, Agents etc
Enforce Regulatory compliance using the internal Compliance Management Framework
Qualifications:
A Law degree with excellent knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
At least 4 years working experience with good understanding and application of competition, Economic or Regulatory Principles.
Experience in or understanding of Mobile Financial Services
Experience in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts

Team player who is able to work collaboratively with regulatory authorities to drive results
Customer centric with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
