Regional Sales Manager

As the Regional Sales Manager for East Africa you will manage a regional sales team to achieve the volumes of sales required in for the Merck Biopharma business in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.
Key responsibilities
Ensure that agreed targets are delivered in accordance with regional and national targets
Manage the Sales Representative Team by maintaining control of activities and costs in the region within the terms of company policies
Provide the Sales Representatives with the necessary support for learning and growth and alignment with Merck values
Set and manage the Sales and Expense budget for the specific region / area and ensure ROI are always assessed
Liaise and build relationships with key opinion leaders in conjunction with the relevant sales representative
Work internally with Marketing, Regulatory and Finance
To identify business opportunities in line with the product range
The successful candidate will have
A background in pharmaceutical sales
Previously lead remote sales teams
Strong leadership ability
A focus on driving a performance culture
Worked in a complex International organisation
Existing work rights in Kenya
Desirable
Experience in Generics
Experience of Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda
