Reconciliation Manager

Overall Job Purpose
The Reconciliation Manager will be responsible for managing the reconciliation function by ensuring timely, accurate and consistency for all operational, channels and card business reconciliations within the bank. The job holder will be responsible for managing, controlling and monitoring of all processes within the function while adhering to set regulations, processes and procedures while ensuring that appropriate controls are in place across these activities to satisfy legal and compliance obligations.
Principle Accountabilities

Reconciling all the allocated suspense / GL accounts and clearing the outstanding items promptly.
Advising on the way forward for the long outstanding items if any with the guidance of the immediate supervisor.
Correct posting of journal entries and timely reversals of errors.
Proper custody of reconciliation documents.
Proactively manage all incoming complaints and queries relating to customer transactions on all channels.
Any other duty that will be assigned as need arises.
Creating Rate file for ICPS and NI to upload on their switch and CMS
Confirmation of receipt of all Visa and Mastercard settlement reports
Reconciliation and settlement of Visa and Mastercard International transactions
Reconciliation and settlement of Visa and Mastercard Domestic transactions
Reconciliation and Settlement of Kenswitch Transactions
Raising Reconciliation Entries for posting in Profits
Daily settlement of International settlement
Daily settlement of KNNSS (Kenya National Net Settlement Services)
Handle all KENSWITCH dispute claims are settled
Handle reversal of all timed out Kenswitch transactions
Handling rejected transactions
Review and improve reconciliation process
Review Switch Settlement and confirm Issuer amounts are posted at the correct rates
Ensure Compliance and Internal Audit recommendations are reviewed and where appropriate implemented.
Adhere to Company Risk Management policy and procedures, including reporting of incidents or breaches.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related fields.
Master’s Degree is an added advantage
CPA or CIFA
Experience in card reconciliation
Experience working at a manager level within an operational service environment within Financial Services
Proven track record in operational or assurance roles, ideally within the Financial Services industry.
Experience of delivering operational Controls and Assurance functions with a good understanding of finance, assurance and controls.
Highly numerate and articulate with a strong commercial acumen – confident at presenting strategy and plans at team level.
