Public Schools Coordinator (PSC) Financial Inclusion Manager

Job Overview

The Public Schools Coordinator (PSC) will build and maintain strong partnerships with a designated cluster of partner public comprehensive schools (ECDE to Grade 9) In this role, you will provide coaching and administrative support to ensure seamless implementation of programs aimed at improving teaching and learning outcomes.
NB: Flexibility and adaptability are key as this is a new role. Responsibilities may evolve based on the program’s needs

Reports to – Public Schools Partnerships Officer

Work Pattern/Hours – Monday – Friday | 8.00 AM – 5.00PM

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Managing Partnerships

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned partner schools, fostering strong relationships.
Collaborate with Education Officers at sub-county level to ensure alignment and support for teaching and learning interventions.
Coordinate and oversee activities and interventions to ensure successful execution.

Training and Coaching of teachers 

Support the facilitation of coaching to teachers to enhance their capacity and support professional growth.

 Support the design and facilitation of professional development workshops.
Facilitate the establishment and oversee management of Professional Learning Communities at the school level.
Facilitate change in schools by supporting teachers so they can model excellence in effective pedagogy and teacher development.
Leverage digital tools for data collection, training, and coaching.
Support the installation of ICT equipment in schools (Scheduling for lab installation, monitoring usage of devices)

Parental Engagement and Learner clubs

Collaborate with partner schools as they undertake parental engagement initiatives in their schools.
Coordinate with the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Libraries and Gender departments to establish and support WASH and ROC (Children’s Rights) Clubs in partner schools

Assessment, Monitoring, and Reporting

Participate in scheduled assessments for schools, teachers and learners to identify needs and support interventions.
Track the progress of program activities, ensuring alignment with timelines and goals.
Collaborate with the MEL team to ensure timely reporting and analysis of program outcomes at school level.
Coordinate parental engagement meetings to support assigned partner schools.

Administrative Support

Organize logistics for professional development sessions, events including follow up calls and reminders to partner schools on trainings and coaching
Follow up on purchase of training materials and other merchandize and monitor the timely delivery of resources
Maintain accurate schedules and records of teachers in training, coaching sessions or other planned interventions.
Support on-ground preparations for continuous professional Development sessions and other interventions.

Education Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
At least 2 years of successful teaching experience.
Proven experience facilitating professional development workshops.
Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred:

Experience coaching teachers or leading professional learning initiatives will be an added advantage
Training and Facilitation
Familiarity with adult learning principles.
Proficiency in using digital tools for training and data collection
