Public Relation Associate

The purpose of this position is to carry out planning publicity strategy, media monitoring, writing and editing magazines, articles, and other duties in liaison with the university’s overall goal.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Public Relations Officer, the position holder will be responsible for the following, amongst others:

Writing and producing presentations and press releases;
Coordinating collation of information within the University for dissemination to relevant stakeholders;
Conducting media relations including media invites and support services for coverage;
Planning publicity strategies and campaigns;
Writing and editing in house magazines, case studies, speeches, articles and annual reports;
Managing, updating information and engaging with users on social media.

Qualification Requirements

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations or Media studies with at least a year’s relevant working experience in a reputable organisation Or;
A Diploma from a recognised institution with at least five (5) years’ experience in a similar role;
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in photography and videography;
Membership to professional body is an added advantage;
Proficiency in digital media and graphic design tools is an added advantage.
