Projects Engineer

Competencies and Qualifications

BSc degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Experience with the following: Post Installation Testing, Cable Jointing, VLF, and OTD testing
Experience in working with quality assurance (non-conformances, root cause analyses, integrity management etc.) from design throughout delivery and operation
Ability to identify and lead key technical topics relating to HV accessories, balancing both technical and commercial needs
Ability to take decisions in the field of responsibility.
Excellent communication skills and fluent in English

Cable Termination and Testing Engineer Responsibilities:

Plan and test high voltage cable commissioning, condition assessment, and fault location tests in projects with mixed technologies e.g., onshore wind, solar, storage, and transmission assets.
Support interface towards commissioning teams, ensuring termination and testing aligns with relevant contactor and Safe Systems of Work.
Work with various engineering disciplines to support the optimisation of cable system components and beyond, WTG, foundation/tower arrangement from a cable installation, termination and testing perspective.
Regular visits and liaison with suppliers/contractors responsible for the cable accessories and offshore testing scope on delivery projects, including interface with fibre optic cables.
Review of supplier/contractor termination design, manufacturing and testing procedures for both existing and future cable systems
Develop, review and maintain technical documentation related to accessories, joints, hang-off designs, manufacturing, installation, and operational phase of HV Cables
Support Product and Package Engineering teams to inject technical leadership into Product Development, Project Delivery or Operations, acting as arbiter of technical variation requests from the project units
On-site technical support during installation of projects.
Technical support on testing technology selection, definition of testing and accessories acceptance criteria.
Review of As-Built documentation and test results and approval to ensure cable systems meet appropriate acceptance criteria.
