Provides support to established think tanks that can produce action-oriented research and facilitate dialogue.
An innovation instrument aimed at funding creative ideas from civil society that challenge existing exclusive practices through pilot projects.
Established organizations in enhancing their efforts related to voice, rights, and accountability and empower local informal organizations at the grassroots level, helping them become more operational and engage in dialogue with local authorities regarding their rights.
The position is full-time over the whole duration of the Project and is based in Nairobi with expected frequent travel to Somalia and Somaliland.
Required qualifications:
A university degree at least equivalent to a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as e.g. social sciences or development studies.
At least 10 years of post-degree working experience as Head of major development projects in Africa (i.e. multi-year projects, each with budgets of USD 10 million at least).
At least 5 years of post-degree working experience with supporting civil-society organisations in developing countries.
At least 5 years of working experience with fund management in development contexts.
At least 7 years’ experience from working in fragile or conflict-affected contexts.
Experience in project leadership from at least 3 different developing countries.
