JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager is responsible for developing in conjunction with the Project Sponsor project roadmaps and strategies. S/he will ensure that company projects are well managed and are delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standard (within agreed specifications). The Project Manager will also ensure that assigned projects and or change request implementation is effectively resourced. S/he will also be key in nurturing, building and retaining relevant relationships with a wide range of groups and partners, including relationships with project contributors. The Project Manager will play a critical leadership role leading and managing the work of project team members, allocating and utilizing resources in an efficient manner while maintaining a co-operative, coordinated, motivated, agile, high performing and successful team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the project lifecycle and the strategic intention of each project assigned to you and ensure that the lifecycle of any assigned project or change request implementation is completed i.e. project initiation, requirements gathering and planning, deployment and testing, Piloting and closure
Prepare and share projects and change requests scope documents and ensure the scope documents are approved before implementation commences
Proactively identify and re-assess the required decision making, problem solving and/or evolving changes in and assigned project as the demand/ situation progresses
Manage internal and external stakeholders’ expectations on the respective project’s investments, requirements, performance and deliverables
Identify and analyze the respective project’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks, establish contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibilities for initiating mitigating action
Resolve cross-functional issues and conflicts at project level
Manage co-ordination of project partners and working groups engaged in any project work as the focal point for any such partners and groups
Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting on the performance of assigned projects daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually and as may be required
Maintain projects related documentation and updates as required, and ensure data protection
Prepare and share internal and external project meeting minutes
Coordinate multiple internal and external project stakeholders
Escalate in a timely manner any risks and issues impacting delivery of assigned projects or change requests implementation within the constraints of time, budget and quality
Coordinate with products and QA teams to ensure user acceptance test cases are fully defined
Coordinate with the products team to ensure customer training is properly conducted before a customer conducts user acceptance testing of the product
Coordinate with products team to ensure products user manuals are prepared and shared with customers
Document lessons learnt for each and every completed project and maintain in a shared folder records of learnings to support knowledge management and for future references
Track trends in project management practices, document and provide advice/ recommendations on key developments to relevant teams and during strategy review sessions
Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the PMO processes.
EDUCATION SKILLS & COMPETENCIES DESIRED
A Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or in any other relevant and related field
Skills and experience in using Project Management Tools (e.g. ZOHO, Microsoft Project) to implement and monitor respective projects and deliverables
Experience in managing software projects following the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) processes
Experience in managing projects using different project management methodologies e.g. Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Hybrid
Professional certification in Project Management
Have at least 3-5 years working experience as a Project Manager preferably in FINTECH (Financial Technology) or Oil and Gas field
Hands-on experience in project management with experience enhancing the methodology, techniques and tools used in project management when managing various project assignments
Experience in managing and monitoring projects effectively and efficiently, resulting in the successful implementation, timely reporting and analysis, and profitability of the respective projects
Experience in complex customer application systems upgrades and migration projects
Conversant with on-prem and cloud based applications deployments
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Proven track record of managing and coordinating internal and external projects stakeholders
Resourcefulness, self-starter with excellent problem-solving analytical and decision making aptitude
Attention to detail, a good listener with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated and driven with a great sense of teamwork
Customer centric, efficient and reliable
Strong ICT project management experience with ability to work within the agile framework
Proven team management skills including the ability to develop staff by identifying and fulfilling gaps in skills and knowledge
Experience in partner selection and management and contract negotiation with 3rd party and other service providers
Open mind towards innovative ways of solving problems and creating solutions for staff through the appropriate use of technology.
