About Rubicon
Project Rubicon is a social impact project aimed at empowering rural women and youth through access to low-cost internet. The DFID and Unilever funded project is a collaboration between DFID, Unilever, Well Told Story, Microsoft and Mawingu Networks. The project will assist Mawingu to redesign and reposition its offer to engage more youth and young women, and with Well Told Story it will research, develop and design new types of relevant, life-enhancing online content that best advance positive outcomes for rural African audiences.
About the Role
The Project Manager will manage the complete lifecycle of the Rubicon project, leading and co-ordinating all contacts from Mawingu Networks, Unilever, Microsoft and Well Told Story. Candidates must have excellent organization, communication, Project Management, negotiation and problem solving skills, and a proven understanding and experience of data driven projects in Sub-Saharan Africa.The successful candidate will possess a unique balance of hands-on and strategic driven project management experience as well as passion for youth and women empowerment.
Responsibilities:

Define and manage scope; and requirements across the project life cycle
Act as the central / main contact for all parties involved in the project
Drive project to ensure progress is aligned with timelines
Ensure projects stay on track, flagging issues when necessary
Manage the project’s risks, changes and documentation.
Monitor all teams to ensure work is being developed on time and per deliverables outlined in brief
Act as the glue between Mawingu, Well Told Story, Microsoft and Unilever, managing multiple contacts within each organization.
Lead weekly / monthly calls to monitor, track and update project status to all
Prepare reporting and presentations for each phase of the project

Requirements:

5+ years of Project management experience with the ability to manage conversations across continents.
Highly self-motivated (can do attitude), confident and articulate.
Ability to be analytical, insightful and willingness to spend time reviewing and presenting data as well as experience in A /B sequential testing.
Ability to solve problems creatively and diplomatically.
Demonstrates assertiveness and demonstrate a sense of urgency, when necessary.
Is resourceful, and can be respectful and inquisitive enough to make decisions and communicate effectively in high stress situations.
Demonstrates strong organizational skills and a strong budget implementation and monitoring background.
Will be based out of the Nanyuki office, with the ability to travel when required.
